Where: Farmhouse When: Early October Who: Dillan, Derrick, Rose, Madeline, John, etc. Rose says "Mister Timothy brung me." Madeline says "Yo, Derrick. You met the new kid yet, Rose?" Rose continues to stare at Dillan. Derrick ambles in quietly. "Hey, Maddy. I kinda sorta met her last night, but there were about a billion people in here and we never actually exchanged names." Dillan perks up, "Derrick? Yo, dude! S'up, holmes?" He ignores Rose for a moment, shouting into the livingroom, "Check it out, gee, I got me a discman!" He pulls the iced tea from the fridge, pouring himself a glass. Derrick makes a beeline for the kitchen and pours himself some water. "Where'd you get that from, Watson?" John O'Morain comes down the stairs. John O'Morain comes down stairs, engrossed in a book. He looks up at the bottom of the stairs, and ohs. "Hello, folks." Dillan grins. "Alexander hooked me up. Me and him got a deal. Actually, eh swiped the thing from my old place."He returns the iced tea tot he fridge, gaze pausing on Rose for a moment, then moving on. Rose looks to John. 'Hello, Mister." John O'Morain says "Name's John, Rose." John O'Morain smiles. Derrick grins at Rose in passing. "I'm Derrick, by the way. Occasionally known as Holmes and Robin." Rose says "Hello Mister Holmes and Robin." Derrick scratches his head. "Rose, I'm 15. I'm Mister to nobody. Y'can call me Derrick, maybe? Can I call you Rose, that is? Or should I call you somethin' else?" Rose says "M'names Rose." You say "'s cool. I'm Derrick. Dillan sometimes makes up new ones for me on the spot, but I'm really Derrick underneath all those titles." John O'Morain walks into the kitchen, and the sounds of the fridge opening and rummanging can be heard. Derrick nods to John. "Evening." John O'Morain calls out a muffled "hiya'. Rose moves closer to John. "Mister John? Who's that? The discman boy? The one named Dillan? Why is he here?" Madeline says "Hey, Dillan, didja hear that I figgered out one o'my gifts?" John O'Morain wanders out of the kitchen, book under his arm, orange in his hands being peeled. "He's here for some of the same reasons you are, Rose. To learn how to use his gifts better." Rose says "But... he's a bad person." Derrick crosses his arms in front of him. "Huh?" John O'Morain blinks. John O'Morain peers at Dillan. "What's she talking about?" Derrick mumbles, "I don't think talking too much makes you a bad person." John O'Morain finishes peeling his orange, and splits it, peeling off a section and popping it into his mouth. Rose hugs her gym bag to herself. Madeline says "Dillan, didja do anything to this girl?" John O'Morain wanders back into the kitchen, and comes back shortly, without his book and the orange peel. He takes another section and eats it. Madeline starts to get a bit edgy, as the tension in the room thickens. John O'Morain says "How was be bad to you, Rose?" Rose says "He's a bad person." She repeats this without explanation, just coldly looking on." John O'Morain leans against the frame of the doorway leading into the kitchen. "Anything in particular he's done?" John O'Morain eats another section of his orange. Derrick leans a shoulder against a wall, and says, "Are we gonna have innocent until proven guilty, here, Rose? At least give us some _ammo_." Rose says "He's a bad person. He goes around in the dark with bad people." Madeline says "Did he do somethin' to you? If so, we'll knock him around a little for ya." Dillan has connected. Rose shakes her head. "He's a bad person," she accuses again. Derrick blinks at Maddy. "'Who's we, paleface?'" John O'Morain eats another section. "Rose's said you're a bad person, Dillan. Want to rebut?" Dillan returns from the bathroom, or something. "So, like, anyways, Derrick. If you wanna listen to some tunes or something, you could probably borrow my discman for a while." Dillan er. "Me? Damn. I got some sorta rep already, Holmes?" He shrugs, hopping atop the countertop and grabbing his iced tea. "Do I look evil or something?" John O'Morain looks Dillan over quite obviously. John O'Morain says "No. A bit confused, maybe, but not evil. Who've you been running around with, though?" Derrick considers. "You look like you have a big mouth and don't know when to close it, but I don't think you look _evil_. So, like, what the hell is this kid talking about?" Dillan smirks, voice sickly sweet. "Thaaaaaanks, Derrick." He pauses to heft his drink back, downing nearly half of it. "Who, me, runnin' with?" You say "What, you don't appreciate me lookin' for facts instead of volunteerin' to whomp on you? Geez, what's this country coming to?" John O'Morain nods. "Yes, you. She says you're out at night with folks." John O'Morain looks at Derrick. "Calm down." Madeline stays silent, with a serious expression on her face. She seems to be watching Dillan suspiciously. Derrick sighs, and plunks down on the floor. "Right. Calmin' down." "Me?" Dillan laughs. "You probably ain't been around much, then..." The statement is just that - a statement, no sarcasm, surprisingly enough. "But, like I been stuck out here. What the heck'm I gonna do at night?" John O'Morain turns back to Dillan, a smile quirking his face. "I don't know. That's what I'm trying to find out." Rose says "Not now. Then. Bad people. In summer." John O'Morain says "Dillan?" Derrick blinks, and looks a lot less defensive in general. Dillan waves a hand vaguely. "yeah, yeah, sure. Summer. Back when I had a life." John O'Morain eats another section of orange. "In a gang, were ya?" Dillan pauses, and glances around quietly. He speaks slowly, "Uh... right. Gang. Yes. Yes I was. If you wanna call me 'n the boyz that, be my guest... kinda honored, I s'pose." Rose repeats. "Bad people. W'n't lemme 'lone." John O'Morain munches on another section. "Did some pranks, maybe? Hotwired a car?" Dillan wavers a hand. "Well, I had my own car so we didn't need to... Otherwise though, sure. Me 'n the posse. We hung around downtown and pulled some cheap shit, sure. Nothin' serious, eh? We're smart that way." John O'Morain nods. "Didya harass the girl here, at all?" Dillan shrugs. "Fucked if I know. We made fun of a lotta people, eh?" The cub continues, explaining, "Passed the time, y'know?" Rose says "Hadda hurt them. Made 'em stoppit." John O'Morain mms, and finishes the orange. He wanders over to the sink to wash his hands. "You know that crap is over, right?" He looks over at Rose's comment. "Sacred gave you the power 'gain?" Rose says "Sacred din't _like_ them. They w'n't lemme 'lone." Tatiana enters the farmhouse cautiously, looking around as if searching for someone. Dillan reaches over and dumps his glass in the sink, swinging his legs idly. "What crap? You mean hangin' with my posse? Thanks for the update. I know all about what's goin' on here. I'm stuck with this garou stint, right?" John O'Morain says "Yep. Can't do that stuff, too much chance of getting caught and letting the wolf outta the bag." John O'Morain waves to Tatiana. John O'Morain wanders back over to the doorway, and nods at Rose. "Well, ya don't have to worry here. I hope." He looks over his shoulder at Dillan with that last. Tatiana smiles shyly and waves to John. Dillan nods. "Yeah, I know... so, like, is she..." He jerks a thumb at Rose, then waggles hisfinger in a loop beside his head. "Y'know?" He turns to see who's entered, a brow raised. You say "Dillan, you can talk to spirits. And you're askin' if _she's_ loopy?" John O'Morain chuckles. "No, she's not, Dillan. She's just confused, and scared, and trying to get over it, like a lot of cubs. Big change, ya know?" Rose says "Better be. Or I hurt him 'gain." Madeline turns to Rose. "How much've they told ya so far, anyhow?" Dillan smirks for a moment and tosses a grin Derrick's way. "I've gotta be rubbin' off on you. You're becoming a bigger jackass each day!" He turns back to John, "Well, whatever. Sounds kinda way out." Tatiana approaches John, writing something on a pad of paper as she does. You say "And... how did you hurt him to begin with, Rose?" Dillan just laughs. "Okay, this is good. Where's the hidden camera? You think I'm gonna run from the queen of the toddler army, there?" Rose looks at Madeline. "I dunno. I dunno. This is all so fast." John O'Morain shakes his head at Tatiana, and looks back and forth between the cubs. "If I hear of any of you beating up on the others, *I'll* start kicking ass. And I don't think any of you want that. You're here to learn, not squabble pointlessly. That's for after you're Rited and on your own." Rose bristles as she's called a toddler. Her age seems to be a sticking point with her, and she glares past the others at Dillan. Tatiana arches a brow at John as he spouts that last bit. Madeline glares at Dillan. "Cool it, 'kay?" The perceptive would notice a protective mannerism developing towards Rose from her. John O'Morain glares at *all* of the cubs. Tatiana gives John a "What did I do?" look. Rose deliberately opens her gym bag and takes out her black leather jacket.jacket. It's way oversized for her, but she puts it on, deliberately. Her defiance is muted by John's dominance, but it is apparent. John O'Morain notes Rose's action, and chuckles quietly. He murmurs, "Oh, my. You do have much to learn." John O'Morain says "Well. Anything else?" Derrick levers himself up to get a drink. "I ain't gonna attack anyone. 'Fact, I'm gonna apologize to someone. Rose, sorry I was bein' annoyin' earlier." Dillan pages to Rose, Tatiana, Madeline, John O'Morain, and Derrick: Sorry for the late response. Unwanted RL impositions upon my attention. Grr. BAck now. Madeline says "Hey, John? How come some of us learn how to change earlier than others?" Rose says "Derrick, you are okay. You are loyal to someone, you do not know they are bad. You learn they are bad, you make it right. That is good." John O'Morain shrugs at Madeline's question. "Some are closer to their roots, Madeline. Less hindered by things. More in touch with their nature, I suppose. Just varies." "Hey now.." Dillan protests, "I ain't never beat no-one up, 'k? I'm chill. So don't even..." He eyes the jacket and nearly leaps from his perch on the countertop. "Bi-atch! S'my fucking jacket! Gimmie!" He storms toward Rose, not currently a ahppy camper. Rose scurries towards Madeline, shrieking as Dillan advances. Derrick shrugs. "I dunno. I think runnin' around makin' fun of people or, uh, whatever he was doin' is stupid. But I also think he's getting more sense." He shoots a grin at Dillan. "And I'm sure he loves me talkin' about him like he's not here." He blinks. "And _you've_ got _his_ jacket? What _gives_, lady?" Madeline has connected. Rose scurries towards Madeline, instinctively counting on her protection, as Dillan advances. John O'Morain rolls his eyes at Tatiana, and steps in front of Dillan, blocking him. His voice is very tightly controlled, and he stares down at Dillan. "Rose, you *will* take that jacket off, *now*, and you will *politely* give it to Dillan here." He keeps his eyes locked on Dillan the whole time he speaks. Madeline stands in front of Rose, ready to intercept Dillan if he comes for her. Rose doesn't argue, but everything in her features cries out the sense of unfairness she feels. She removes the garment, adorned with her needlepointed emblem, and neatly folds it. She retrieves the make-up from the pockets. Dillan takes a step backwards, nodding to the Cliath. Anger barely kept in check, he snarls at Rose "Yeah, you litte wench. Gimmie my goddamned jacket back." He narrows his eyes, hands balled into fists. Tatiana sighs and casts her eyes upwards in a prayer-like manner. Derrick keeps score in his head. "And you, Dillan," John continues in the same voice, "will apologize for that last comment. And if I ever hear of you insulting her again, you will regret it. Understood?" Rose sniffs. "Here is the jacket which I took from you when I beat you. Please accept this with my *sniff* sincere good wishes." She's almost ready to burst into tears, this is clearly a thing of valu to her. Madeline isn't exactly sure what to do now, now that it looks unlikely that a fight'll break out. Dillan growls, snatching the jacket back. "Yeah, fine. I take it back." He ignores Rose's comments turning away. "Fuck's sake. My goddamned jacket." John O'Morain 's voice cracks at Dillan. "Dillan. I said *apologize*. And mean it." Rose rubs her eye with one hand, hugging her gym bag closer to herself than ever. John O'Morain says "Madeline, after Dillan has apologized may I suggest you take Rose upstairs and clean her up a bit?" Tatiana leans back against the wall, watching all of the commotion with an almost sympathetic expression towards John. Dillan nearly gags as he inspects his jacket. "What the... shit, you've totally ruined the damn thing." He tosses it to the floor at Rose's feet. "You migth as well keep the thing. I don't want it." He turns to the Cliath. "I ain't gonna. She done stole somethin' of mine and ruined it. I ain't sayin' sorry for shit-all." John O'Morain says "Everyone. Out. Except you, Dillan." Rose clutches Madeline's arm as John orders them out. She follows the older girl by instinct. Madeline says "C'mon, Rose, let's go upstairs." Tatiana sighs and steps out onto the porch until John's finished beating on the boy. Rose mounts the stairs, pausing briefly at the landing before continuing up to the second floor. Madeline mounts the stairs, pausing briefly at the landing before continuing up to the second floor. Derrick stares at John. "Cripes, this time he's even saying something logical. Right. Talk to you folks later." -- backyard -- Tatiana takes a seat on the porch swing, waiting. Derrick ambles in from the back. "I shoulda gone upstairs. Although really, I'm kinda too pissed to get anything logical out of anyone. Hi. Nice to see you again, by the way." Tatiana smiles and waves. Tatiana tilts her head to one side, looking at the young man. Derrick looks slightly discomfited at the scrutiny. "Um, yeah?" Tatiana smiles and shakes her head as if to say "Nothing." Derrick shrugs. "You're one of us young'uns still, right?" Tatiana nods. Derrick, blithely assuming that communication will happen -somehow-, asks, "You been here awhile?" Tatiana ponders a moment, trying to remember, then takes out a paper and pen, jotting down an answer. "About 2 months." Derrick cocks his head in unconscious imitation of you earlier. "2 months. And you're older'n most cubs around here. Why's that," he asks, taking advantage of the paper while it's around. Tatiana shrugs. *I don't know. That's just how it is.* Derrick plunks down on a step. "Things just being how they are... Seem to be a lot of that stuff around. Not that I'm criticizin' it, mind. Just observing." Derrick cocks an eyebrow. "Wanna go take a run?" Tatiana arches a brow. *A run?* Derrick nods. "A run. A wander. An amble. Get out of the general vicinity of this place and into the general vicinity of another. Get some tension out of my system. Let me trot around discovering new capabilities of wolfdom. Etcetera." Tatiana chuckles a silent chuckle and nods. Derrick grins. "Cool. First one to the Caern wins? (Wins what, you ask. That's the mythtery of it all.)" -- to the Sept Compound -- Stormcloud pages: I'm asleep by fire. Nikolai says softly "Hey, Stormcloud. Wakeup." Derrick snuffles in on the track of Stormcloud, and peers at Tatiana. ~I believe I said to the _Caern_, didn't I?~ He's teasing, mostly. Tatiana smiles sweetly to Derrick. Derrick flops down next to the sleeping Stormcloud. Nikolai contorts and blurs as he is transformed. Stormcloud raises his head at the mention of his name. He looks around at all the people now here. Greetings. What did this one do now? Nikolai shifts into Hispo form. Foxpaw pads over and nudges Stormcloud to say hi. Derrick laughs, as much as a wolf can. ~I'm visiting, silly, Visiting a friend.~ Stormcloud nudges back, not as warmly as he used to, but still friendly. Tatiana walks over to Stormcloud and kneels down beside him. Stormcloud sits up, ears cocked forward, as he spies Tatiana. Foxpaw whuffs. Is Stormcloud going to be ok? Tatiana smiles and reaches out to scratch the wolf behind the ears. Stormcloud closes his eyes, grumbling in appreciation. He says flatly, This one will be fine. Looking up at Tat, This one has missed you. Tatiana smiles and kisses the wolf on the nose. Stormcloud sighs. This one has had a strange week. Will Tatiana accept this one's affections? Tatiana smiles and nods. Stormcloud shifts to crinos, wanting to hold onto somebody. Stormcloud contorts and blurs as he is transformed. Stormcloud shifts into Crinos form. Foxpaw contorts and blurs as he is transformed. Foxpaw shifts into Glabro form. Stormcloud gets up, waiting for Tatiana to find a comfortable spot near the fire. Tatiana finds such a spot and sits down. Stormcloud walks up behind Tatiana and descends around her, surrounding her with himself, sharing his heat on this cool evening. Looking over at Derrick, he speaks in a voice felt more than heard, and less jovial than usual. ~How's life at the farmhouse?~ Derrick grimaces. ~Chaotic. As usual. We have three new cubs, and one of them has picked a fight with Dillan. Dillan's getting the worst of it from the Elders, as usual.~ Nikolai says "Who is buggin Dillan now?" Derrick raises an eyebrow towards Nik. ~I don't know if you know her. Rose?~ Stormcloud hugs Tatiana, wanting some comfort from her, but not enough to come close to hurting her. Still looking at Derrick, ~Dillan has not changed, apparently.~ Tatiana rubs the Garou's arms fondly, offering what little comfort she can. Nikolai says "I think I saw her but I don't know her." Derrick sighs. ~Dillan was in a bad pack when he was in the city. Rose got laughed at by that pack, and more, but then Rose stole things from Dillan. Dillan is changing somewhat, here. I trust him more than I once did. In other words, it is not entirely his fault.~ Stormcloud lowers his head so that it rests beside Tatiana's, grumbling affectionately. Tatiana reaches up and pats the Garou gently on the cheek. Nikolai looks confused and says "You can be in a pack as a cub?" Stormcloud leans his head even closer to Tatiana. Derrick looks up from the fire at Nik and grins. ~I was using Garou terms. Pardon. He was in a gang, apparently, although a rather toothless one.~ Nikolai says "Ahhhh......Now it makes more sense to me." Stormcloud thinks that he will never understand humans fully. Nikolai says "I'm gonna check out the house. Laterz guys." Tatiana closes her eyes and relaxes against Stormy. Derrick snorts at Stormcloud. ~I won't either. So we're even.~ Nikolai pats Stormcloud a bit then begins to walk towards the brush. Stormcloud watches Nik leave, then nuzzles even closer to Tatiana. Nikolai shifts into Lupus form. Foxpaw leaves the compound. Stormcloud looks to Derrick without moving his head. ~The last couple of nights were rough on this one.~ Tatiana closes her eyes, using Stormy for a pillow. Stormcloud looks down at Tat in a caring way, then returns to look at Derrick. Derrick growphs. ~Yes. I know. Emotional upset and self-blame, correct?~ Stormcloud closes his eyes and grins wolfishly. ~Yes. That one I met. That still sits in this one. Also, last few nights were this one's moon.~ Derrick nods. ~Put yourself into someone and be rejected. It hurts.~ He cocks his head. ~And your moon makes you more empty? Or more angry?~ Stormcloud sighs. ~This one's anger makes him empty.~ Tatiana looks up at Derrick, the cranes her head back to look up at Stormy. Derrick sits up and nuzzles Stormcloud. ~I seem to have less of the Rage than most. But I felt it tonight. And it was an empty thing, for me. I think... that for some it is not. I will have to speak with them.~ Stormcloud whines lowly, apologizing if he had disturbed Tatiana while she was resting. Tatiana smiles and reaches up to scratch the Garou lovingly. Stormcloud looks back at Derrick. ~At least this one is not alone in that feeling.~ Stormcloud grunts in pleasure, lowering his head low enough for Tat to reach his ears.
