Logs of note

These are mostly from 1997-1998, during my initial run on Garou.

I look back at some of these and wince, but the thing is, half the time I wasn't using a client, and also, I'd never role-played before. So I was new. I try and give myself slack.

The point of view character is Derrick, a rather solemn Ragabash Silver Fang. I'd created him (after a few years of occasionally popping on as a guest to bug Sepdet) essentially as a foil to Brittany Sterling, philodox Silver Fang. She promptly idled, but it at least got me RPing.

• The first one is a teaching session, shortly after Derrick was kidnapped. Sadly, I don't have the kidnapping itself (I'd like to've seen my RP debut, in retrospect), but I have The Day After. I'm all over the place. Sigh. Brittany, as usual, is the picture of Fangliness.

• This one also started out as a teaching session (explaining Black Spiral Dancers), then mutated into a nice moment between Dillan, Derrick, and Cassandra, and then into calming down a new arrival that had just been kidnapped.

• A teaching session and small debate on the Impergium.

• A small contremps. Rose examines Dillan in her own special way. Soon after this, we have them making up.

• Another "explain Garou to someone just kidnapped" session (plus a little playing with Stormcloud and Anpwhotep, later in the log). Dusty and Dante, this time.
• Sometime after this, Brittany the historian turns mythological and explains why Fangs lead.

• Derrick and Rose have a conversation, Orion and Derrick have a conversation, and then Chloe and Eochaid have a somewhat more tense conversation.

• Derrick and Dillan and Dante and Dusty and Madeline's Rite of Passage.
  
• The start. Dillan and Derrick have a furtive conversation. Then, Dusty and Dillan get into a fight with some Spirals, after which Dusty and Derrick discuss it. Then, we all go to be terrified by some very large bear shifters. After which, the bears are taken to the site of Dusty and Dillan's fight. And then we have a big ol' fight with some more Spirals to end it. And then Derrick's elder interrogates him about it. Pass or die, whee!

• Soon after this, Derrick serves as Witness for Rose, a cub who had not been able to discover her Tribe, been adopted by the Furies, and had discovered she was actually Uktena. Uktena himself was summoned to determine which Tribe Rose should belong to. (Plus, a short teaching session afterwards.)

• January Moot.

• Sometime after this, various folks summon Magpie , one of Derrick's favorite spirits.

• Just recently, I've taken to playing one of my packmates' mothers. The first appearance of same can be seen here.

• At January Moot, Derrick and his pack were assigned a mission, against an Evil Mage. Here is the disastrous first assault on him, when Derrick was dumb and three people died.

• Approximately two weeks later, we have the conclusion of the mission, where Derrick, his pack, and a few other people go in and wreak some very satisfying havoc.

• Athena ponders prophecies, and Madeline and Dante get into a verbal disagreement, which later leads to a physical one.
• Jenna, Winks, and Black Wind fight a battle against hopelessness..
• Jenna has an outing in the City, and then meets Sepdet for the first time.
• Chloe, Jenna, and a few others have a talk, feeling each other out.
• Jenna tells the story of Klaital's Klaive.
